Huntly Primary School was established in 1860, services a semi rural community in a designated growth corridor linked to Bendigo. The rural township of Huntly is situated 15km north of Bendigo on the Midland Highway. Our present enrolment is 154 and students attend from the Huntly township and surrounding areas. Many of our students come from rural properties or large town blocks, travelling to school in a variety of ways including the school bus.Our school provides the opportunity to develop student's academic, social and physical abilities. A balanced learning program encourages effective learning by meeting individual student's needs and differences.Our school believes that each student's progress is enhanced and enriched through co-operation between students, staff, parents, community and other learning providers both at school and home. The co-operation of these partners provides challenging learning experiences that assist each student to realise their portential and will equip them to effectively participate in society, contributing to its advancement and well being.Staffing comprises a leadership team of the Principal and experienced teachers and a blend of accomplished teachers and specialists. |
